Explore the Lofoten archipelago with its beautiful landscapes and charming atmosphere. Whether you’re interested in sightseeing, hiking, photographic tours, history, nature, culture, the midnight sun or the northern lights - you can experience them all.

In Lofoten, there is a season for everyone. The Gulf Stream blesses us with a relatively mild climate, so winter is an ideal time to experience the Northern lights, or just to savour the special atmosphere that is winter in the Arctic. But winter is not the only chance to see the Aurora. They enchant us right through till April. September and October can also provide perfect conditions for viewing the Northern lights, a heavenly version of the autumn colours covering the mountainsides.

Hiking or a boat trip enables you to experience the Lofoten islands from a unique perspective. A nature safari is perfect for encounters with some of the wilder “locals”, like sea eagles or harbour seals. While the various museums are perfect for encounters with the past, from the harsh conditions of the winter cod fishery to the fascinating Vikings. Lofoten’s rich cultural life offers galleries and music festivals in the picturesque fishing villages.

As the longest-running guide company in the islands, Arctic Guide Service has been making Lofoten holidays memorable since 2001. We arrange guided tours to groups of all sizes, including independent travellers, for tours lasting from a few hours to several days.
